The Bell in Room Nine
Night carer Bee Mallory answers bells; that's the job. But Room 9 at Holmroyd House has been empty since Edie Garside died there, and every night at ten past three its bell still rings. Edie rang for forty-two minutes the night she died, and nobody came. Now the lights on the call panel have started walking down the corridor, one room at a time, looking for someone who'll keep her company.
